I/O STUDIO SYSTEM QUICK START GUIDE
So you've downloaded the Ultimate Guide to Growing/Building/Scaling a music coaching business, you're excited to get started - but where to from now?
I've created this quick start guide to get your hands and feet in the game as quickly as possible, not just your head.
- What's your vision? Create your elevator pitch.
- Identify your ideal student.
- Your first message - write 1 piece of content for THEM.
- Split this down into 5 supporting points
- Create 10 headlines from your 5 supporting points
- Create one diverse piece of content for each headline
- Schedule 'em
- Brainstorm value content for your program
- Create one system
- Rinse, repeat
#1 What's your vision? Create your elevator pitch.
What exactly do you do? You're not a guitar teacher you "help flamenco guitarists take their playing to a professional level using the experience you've learned in over 15 years of touring with the New York flamenco troupe". You're not a piano teacher, you "help mature age jazz piano playersĀ transform their skills into classical technique so they can perform piano concertos using your uniqueĀ 3 level Piano method"
I help __________ achieve _________ using _____________.
^ Here's a rough idea of how your pitch should look.
Here are IO studio system, "I help burned out music teachersĀ achieve financialĀ and time freedom while making a bigger impact with their students so they can go out and kick ass and knock their goals out of the park like never before".
#2 Identify your ideal student
What has your ideal student from the above elevator pitch been through up to this point/what path have they taken to get to this point where they need your help?
For me as a voice teacher, rock singers who have bought courses before/taken training before and they've hit a wall with classical/traditional vocal technique are my ideal student.
How did they get to this point?
Why hasn't previous training worked?
Why are YOU the perfect fit for them?
#3 Write 1 piece of content for them
With your elevator pitch and your ideal student in mind, write a piece of content for them.
It can be a guide, a tutorial, a blog post - basically, if this student asked you the question, what advice would you give them without a filter? Be open and create an item of content specifically for this student.
I suggest a blog post/tutorial on your website specifically for this person.
"If you're a piano player that finds jazz easy, but classical pieces incredibly challenging - this tutorial is for you"
Then go into the details and share your personal experience with your elevator pitch in mind. Share stories, share your background, share your student's success stories or challenges you've overcome with your approach. Don't sell, just relate and teach.
Publish it.
#4Ā Split this down into 5 supporting points
Within your post, there is at least 5 important points that you might not even realise you've made. Re-read your content and highlight/make note of any poignant statements or advice you've made and given.
"How to sing high notes - for rock singers"
might become;
- Vowels are related to pitch
- Support is key to singing high notes with ease
- Tone and placement is imperative for powerful/aggressive rock singing
- Great rock singers aren't shouting, they're using mixed voice and belting
- Vocal training is about practical application, not sheer hours spent on exercises
#5 Create 10 headlines from your 5 supporting points (using keywords)
From these five points, using low competition keywords/phrases, turn your 5 supporting points into 10x tantalizing headlines. My headlines become;
- How VOWELS transformed my rock singing (Vowel frequency = Pitch frequency)
- These two vowels helped me sing an A4 instantly
- How changing my support has helped my rock singing
- Support is key to singing powerful rock songs
- How placement sets up your voice for better rock grit and distortion
- The tone you need for a powerful rock sound isn't what you've been doing (try THIS instead)
- Stop SHOUTING rock songs and instead sing them with ease using mixed voice
- Learning to belt properly stopped me from blowing my voice out with my rock band
- Stop wasting your time with exercises and start doing THIS instead (it's all about your vowels)
- What vowel are you singing and how the hell do you sing it? (the key to powerful rock singing)
#6 Create one diverse piece of content for each headline
Create varying forms of content for the strength of each headline. Pick one for a longer form YouTube video using the template you saw in the Ultimate Guide to growing/building/scaling a Music Coaching Business and split the rest down into short form content like shorts, reels, instagram posts, x posts or even more blogs/tutorials.
Congratulations, you just turned one idea into 10+ pieces of content.
#7 Schedule thoseĀ suckers
Schedule each piece of content through the week so you can focus on other aspects of your business/coaching while your content is growing, releasing and going live in the background.
#8 Brainstorm value content for your program
Now that we're speaking to your ideal student, and you have a core message, it's time to work out exactly how to REALLY help these students nail their goals once and for all when they come to work with you on a one-to-one basis through your program.
What tools can you create? What guides or templates can you create? What community can you create? Can they send you files/audio/video for advice and support? Legitimate reasons to meet one-on-one?
#9 Create ONE system
Rome wasn't created in a day - pick ONE system within your business and set it up. Whether it's an automated calendar system, a mailing list, even google analytics tracking your website views - set one of them up this week and put the others aside.
#10 Rinse and repeat
Head right back to #1 after you've ticked everything off and tweak your elevator pitch, tweak your ideal student now that you're getting comments, questions and feedback, then write another message to those specific people and track down this list.
Rinse repeat, Rinse repeat etc.
Now, if you're looking for help creating your headlines - hit the link below to share your 5 stems with me and I'll help you turn this into 10 keyword ready headlines.
